"Rain on your wedding day is good luck"
We feel so privileged to have been a part of this beautiful day! The whole bridal party joined in the fun and turned a rainy stormy day into one of the best weddings we have been involved with!

Ashe and her girls started the morning off getting glammed up at Concept Hair & Beauty where Ashton captured these beautiful shots...

Ashe and Kris are a bright and bubbly couple, so their chosen colour scheme suited them perfectly. The girls wore gorgeous black dresses each with their own brightly coloured sash. Ashe's dress was just beautiful and looked amazing on her, as I'm sure you will all agree! Topped off with vibrant gerberas and sexy blue heels, this bride definitely knew how to brighten up a stormy day!

Luckily Ashe and Kris had planned a church wedding, as come ceremony time it was STILL pouring with rain! They got married at St Lawrence's Church amongst their family and friends

We had a lovely outdoor location selected in which to take the family photos, but of course the rain threw our plans out the window! Luckily we had the beautiful church to take them in instead.

The ceremony came to an end, however the rain carried on. Location photos had been planned prior to the big day, to be taken as the bridal party made their way on foot, from the Marina to Posh, along the Foreshore... Unfortunately we had to look to plan B! Thank goodness we have our very own studio on the marina, where ourselves and the bridal party could all escape the rain, while snapping some shots against our lovely backdrops.

As we where snapping away in the studio, the rained suddenly subsided! If only for ten minutes, it was time enough to capture some stunning shots down on the boardwalk.

Heading off from the marina we carpooled the bridal party across to the Bill Sewell complex. There we found a quaint undercover area to take the next set of location photos.

Our last stop for photos was Geraldton's colourful west end of Marine Terrace. As soon as the bride and groom got out of the car, the rain stopped! The sky cleared completely, allowing us plenty of time to have fun and capture some great shots!

The day concluded with the sun shining, and the newlyweds and their bridal party ready to party! Thank you so much Ashe and Kris for choosing Lace Wedding's to photograph your extra special day. For those of you following on at home, remember to check back to our blog, as we will be posting some of our older weddings soon. However before then, we will be posting a run down of Angie & Scott's amazing wedding day!

Goodnight for now,
- Kate & Ashton

Ashley + Cassie

24th May 2014
When my brother and his future wife approached me to help plan their wedding I jumped at the opportunity! A beach wedding on the coast of sunny Geraldton - or so we thought. The rain set in early in the afternoon, but even a last minute change of ceremony location couldn't take the smile off Cassie's face as she walked down the aisle to the man of her dreams!

The morning started nice and early for the girls, with a beautiful breakfast provided by Tarts & Co. It tasted as good as it looks!

The morning was filled with pampering and laughs. Cassie, along with her four beautiful bridesmaids, had their makeup applied by Fionn McKenna and hair styled by Abrolhos Hair.

The bouquets were crafted by Flash Flowers, using a gorgeous combination of flowers and cute, delicate shells.

The boys enjoyed a game of golf in the morning, before heading home to get ready. In their grey suits and turquoise bowties, the boys looked very smart!

It was a beautiful ceremony, despite being changed at last minute to be held at the reception venue - the Surf Lifesaving Club. Between showers of rain, we ran down the beach to capture the location photos - these shots turned out better than we ever could have expected!

Cassie's dress was purchased from Bridal by Aubrey Rose in Perth and I think you would have to agree with me, it...was...sensational!

Ashley & Cassie could not have chosen a better group of people to stand by them on their special day! They are all fun and full of energy, making for some great candid shots, as requested by the bride and groom.

Lastly, a few more snaps of the bride and groom to finish the post... They were practicing their bridal dance on the beach when we captured this beautiful image.

We hope you like the sneak peek as much as we do! - Kate & Ashton
